c e l e s t i a l Sirens: Darkness, Peace & Light
The Vermont female singing trio, c e l e s t i a l Sirens, are joined in this stirring multimedia performance by versatile vocal and instrumental musicians, dancers, artists & poets. The group shares their thoughts about these times by voicing collective mourning, consolation and hope through a millennium of music from the 8th through 18th centuries. The musical expression of the performance is enriched with poetry, dance and slides throughout.
This 3-part program opens with mourning the darkness and loss. The second part offers consolation and peace through the common human experience of the voice of mother and child. The final part offers hope for peace on earth.
c e l e s t i a l Sirens have performed throughout Vermont in concerts including "Music of Women through the Millennium", "Winters Light", and "Loves Inspiration". In April 2001, c e l e s t i a l Sirens performed on Garrison Keillors popular radio show, A Prairie Home Companion, as national finalists chosen from over 650 entries in the Talent From Towns Under Two Thousand Contest.
